* MOTION MAGIC *

A range of some of my motion graphic works, including kinetic typography, interstitial animations, and creative video projects. These pieces aim to navigate relatable storylines and especially highlight a nostalgic feel throughout, often playing up an emotional undertone like humor or a charged visceral human emotion.

Enjoy these – they’re fun, I promise. =]

IFC

INTERSTITIAL

CASE STUDY

In a small case study I conducted on IFC interstitials, I explored the company’s brand guidelines from both graphic and motion design perspectives. My goal was to create a set of original interstitials that would seamlessly blend into their programming by closely following these guidelines while capturing the snappy, quick-paced attitude of their motion graphics, as shown in some of my iterations below.

OTHER SIDE

OF THE GAME

I developed a creative campaign for a Purchase College multimedia opera inspired by ERYKAH BADU'S song "OTHER SIDE OF THE GAME," which explores the struggles of a mother trying to shield her child from the harsh realities of her partner's drug-dealing lifestyle.

OTHER SIDE OF THE GAME

The campaign included filming and creating a trailer teaser video, a GIF for advertising on newsletters and other digital platforms, a physical mailer invitation and a poster design to promote the show. Each element I used aims to encapsulate the emotional depth and narrative tension of the opera while engaging the audience visually and emotionally.

P.S. I did not * actually * collaborate with any of the artists named in this project, but a girl can only dream. <3

ISOMETRIC PERSPECTIVE

I created a GIF loop to convey the concept of ISOMETRIC PERSPECTIVE. By illustrating its unique perspective and dimensionality I wanted to highlight the key characteristics and applications of Isometric perspective, while also making the concept quickly and easily digestible to any viewer.

BLACK MIRROR | EP 02: WHITE BEAR

This is an animated poster based on the popular NETFLIX series "BLACK MIRROR", focusing on my favorite episode in season two - "WHITE BEAR," which captures the pervasive anxiety of being constantly surveilled and recorded.

I chose to design and animate eerily synchronized hand movements to evoke a hive mind mentality and to also align with the show's theme of the unsettling psychological interplay between human nature and technology.

KINETIC TYPE

KEY AND PEELE

I made a kinetic type video using a popular KEY AND PEELE skit to emphasize the actors' tone and delivery through dynamic typefaces and lettering.

My goal was to capture the essence of their performance while navigating the challenge of presenting dialogue from two speakers simultaneously, which I played up by creating distinct spaces for each voice and trying to recreate (quite literally, the most hilarious vibes) such a lively interaction through expressive text behavior.
